Stay Hydrated with This New Fitness Tracker

You always hear about how important it is to stay hydrated, but how are you supposed to know when to drink more water? Because technology is awesome, there’s a new Kickstarter campaign for a fitness tracker that can help you hydrate better.

LVL is an up-and-coming wearable fitness tracker that monitors not only your heart rate, calorie intake and sleep patterns, but your hydration levels (or lack thereof), too.

The device connects to an app on your phone, which you can check as often as you want. If the app shows you a smiley face, it means you’re hydration levels are fine and you can go about your business. If it shows you a sad face, it means it’s time to hydrate. That doesn’t seem so hard to figure out.

This is one of those things that could help, but certainly won’t hurt you. You might be one of those people who drinks water constantly throughout the day, meaning you don’t really need a device to tell you when you’re dehydrated. It’s still cool knowing something like this is in the works, though.

Sound like a thing you need ASAP (a.k.a., 2017 when it ships)? Back the project on Kickstarter.

MP’s Take: Sometimes new tech and new apps come out that make you wonder if people are just going to keep getting lazier and lazier. This isn’t one of those devices. This kind of thing could actually really help you monitor your hydration levels and train you to drink more water throughout the day. Staying hydrated is so, so important, essential for weight loss and brain power. It’s also just all around part of a healthy lifestyle. It’s not like you have to read a bunch of numbers to figure out whether you’re hydrated or not. Smiley face: you’re good. Sad face: drink some water. It’s simple and straightforward. The future is here.
