I’m An Ectomorph. How Do I Gain Weight?

I have received numerous questions about my MP45 Program so I will be answering these questions throughout the website. I am sure many of you have the same kinds of questions so I want to address them in as much detail as possible. I have received unbelievable amounts of positive feedback and transformation stories. I can’t thank you all enough for your support. You all define the term “Muscle Prodigy” in your own special way. If you haven’t checked out MP45, you can find it HERE

Question from Sandro:

I’d consider myself pretty ectomorph. If I ever had a problem with weight then it was that there was too little of it. At least that’s what my grandmother always said. Last time I checked 5 months ago, I weighed 151 lbs. at 6’1″. Could pretty much eat whatever I wanted, not doing much sports without gaining weight. Now it might have changed a little, as my girlfriend is a good cook and I think I have eaten even more in the last month. Either way, the only excess fat is stored pretty much only around the belly. Could definitely do with a bit more muscle though. Now, considering that burning fat is not nearly as high a priority as for some of your other clients, is MP45 still the best program to get that beach body?

Answer from Jaret Grossman, Creator of MP45:

Hey Sandro. Yes, MP45 is for anyone. Let me explain. Weightlifting is like an equalizer for your body. Jack Lalanne used to say this in his videos all the time. If you are skinny, weightlifting obviously promotes hypertrophy, or the stimulus for muscle growth to occur. If you are overweight, weightlifting helps tone up your body by favoring your body composition towards one that is more aesthetically pleasing- more muscle, less fat. Training not only burns calories to shed fat, but helps increase definition by building muscle, which helps burn fat and releases the proper hormones to help enhance fat burning (testosterone and HGH play a large vital role in staying lean). So from a training standpoint, both an ectomorph and an endomorph should train the same. Muscle is muscle. Fat is fat.

We want to build as much muscle as possible and we want to burn as much fat as possible. Training allows us to do that, but the differences in our results will mainly stem from our nutrition. An ectomorph MUST eat more calories and in different ratios than an endomorph. An endomorph is usually hypersensitive to carbs, whereas an ectomorph can eat carbs without having much negative impact. So you obviously want to increase the definition in your abs and build up muscle to your frame. You need to train the way dictated in MP45 and that includes cardio. The type of cardio we are doing when combined with the proper nutrition allows us to preserve muscle mass while burning body fat. High intensity interval training, sprints, stairs, and incline hills are extremely beneficial to not only burn muscle mass but increase levels of HGH.

The more muscle you have, the more fat you burn. You need to follow the types of foods in the MP45 Program, which are totally clean foods (with the exception of some cheat meals here and there), but you, as an ectomorph, must eat large quantities of such to pack on muscle. That means you must eat more carbohydrates than someone looking to lose weight. Since you have a hypersensitive nervous system and are very light in weight compared to your frame, you can afford to eat more. Lots of clean food will give you the results you desire. The low glycemic index carbs, protein, and healthy fats are going to provide steady nutrition to your body throughout the entire day and pack on the muscle while maintaining your blood sugar levels to reduce that last bit of fat in your gut. Usually ectomorphs lose that “belly” once they’ve built up muscle in their abs, cut the sodium out of their diet, and shred the last bit of fat with a clean diet (staying away from white breads and sugars which affect the last bit of stubborn fat). Best of luck and prepare for great results with MP45!
