Running Training
Using a Running Log Could be Helpful
A Running Log, whether your a competitive running or Sunday jogger can help you reach your potential or goal. Both the Sunday jogger and the competitive runner have a goal or purpose - although it may be vastly different they each have a goal, purpose, or purposes for running.
Many times these goals and purposes get lost in the shuffle of things or become hard to reach - that's exactly where a running log can help. Having a running log can help one stay focused on reaching that goal or purpose. Many of the most successful businesses record how their company is doing so that they can know what areas need improved and what changes are needed. Running and working-out is no different. By keeping track of your training you'll be able to spot areas that need handled and adjust them quickly.
How much information do you need to record or keep track of? Well, that's really up to the runner and dependent on the goal or purpose of running. Making sure you're recording the necessary data is just as important as having something recorded. At a basic level most runner should record the millage they ran, on what day, and how they felt. Some more competitive runners will record everything down to the amount of sleep they got and the weather conditions. What might be the easiest for you to determine what you need to record and focus on would be for you to work backwards down from your goal or purpose, finding what you need to do in order to reach it and then recording that information on a daily basis.
Now that we have some understanding of the importance of having a running log and have an idea of the things we will want to record lets look at the ways we can record this information. There are tons of ways to record your training information. One of the most common is writing your runs down in a log book. But with the advent of computers we can make that task much easier and effective. There are computer software you can use on your personal computer and statistic programs like Excel that will allow you to track your data but there are also websites that offer interactive online applications for recording your running too.
Well, I hope that help you to reach your goal or purpose. For more information on running logs and to try out our online running log check out our site at www.logthatrun.com
