The Secret to Six Pack Abs- Women's Fitness and Training for Better Midsection and Flatter Stomach
99% of my clients are interested in improving their abdominal area, whether it be reducing the size of their round belly, getting rid of love handles or taking the last small layer of fat off from their almost six-pack stomach. Etching is a kind of abdominal liposuction procedure that only removes excess fat and skin. It is intended to give you a flatter, tighter stomach area, with stronger muscle definition. The best candidate for this plastic surgery has naturally athletic-looking underlying muscles that can be accentuated with abdominal etching. Our abdominals are often the measure of how fit we are, whether this is correct or not. Our eyes are drawn to the middle of a person and we often judge them by this in some way or another. This is the usually the reason why 99% of my clients want to improve this area.
Unfortunately most of the people that want to improve this area are not doing so correctly, they have gotten wrapped up in the misleading information out there that says this is the way to get great abs. Nothing on the shopping channel or in the fitness store will get you your six-pack, nor will any fad diet get you the middle you deserve. The marketing of such goods and services make so much money off of people who believe they can actually help them. Take a look at bodybuilders and fitness models of the last 10, 20, even 50 years and see what most of them are doing. I bet 95% or more of them did not use an ab-lounge chair or anything of the sort. I also bet their diet was something that was part of a very healthy lifestyle and not a diet to get the abs to have them disappear after they return to “normal” eating.
So you ask, what is the secret? The secret is that it is not a secret. It really is as simple as sticking to a very healthy diet and full body workouts. But what most people think of as a healthy diet is not really so in fact. Most of my clients come to me and claim to eat pretty healthy but when I ask them to write down for me what they eat typically I can see that their version of healthy and my version are not the same whatsoever. Healthy to me is not cereal or toast for breakfast, does not involve any pasta, breads or potatoes (expect sweet potatoes) and certainly does not involve deserts or typical snack foods. Even if you want to argue until you are blue in the face that your version of healthy actually IS healthy, I am telling you that it will most likely not result in six-pack abs; the choice is ultimately yours of course.
As for the workouts, you can do crunches until you hurt but this will not sculpt out your abdominals very well if at all. Nor will it ever burn fat off of your middle section, this is probably the biggest myth that people believe. You can target an area to build muscle, but you can never target an area for fat loss. If you want to lose fat in a specific area of your body you have to work out will full body workouts and hope it comes off where you want it to as you will not have a choice in the matter. If you do tons of abdominal exercise all this will do will build up muscle in that area. If you aren’t doing the right things to reduce the fat in that area all this will accomplish is a thicker midsection, the opposite of your goal.
What are the right exercises then to burn the most fat you might ask? They are full body, multi-jointed weighted exercises along with bodyweight type exercises. The science behind fitness program creation is quite scientific so it’s not as simple as giving you a workout to do, as this workout will only work if you are doing it in correct form and it will only be good for 1 workout, you can’t repeat the same workout over and over again and expect improvement. To get the workout that will work for you I suggest booking an assessment with a personal trainer, they are the experts and the good trainers will know how to easily help you get your dream abs.
