Self-Motivation Governs
The only motivation that really matters in this life is self-motivation. No matter what incentives are out in front of you and no matter who is telling you what to do, the only thing that matters at the end of the day is if you are willing to do it yourself. If you are not ready to commit, your actions will always be half-assed. If you are doing something to please someone else (like going to the gym to please a boy/girl), reconsider the situation; because in due time if that is your only motivational influence, what is going to happen when that externality goes away? The activity that you were doing will probably go away as well in which it was a complete wasted effort. Nothing is worse than wasted effort.
You should be doing things in which you can push yourself within to do, without the use of outside influence. You cannot rely on other people to "kick you in the ass" to motivate you, but you have to want to do it yourself. You have to want to strive to be better from within. When it comes to training or life in general, you've got to be the one who wants to approach life with a heightened sense of desire to improve.
It can't come from your boss at work, your trainer in the gym, or your boyfriend/girlfriend at home. It's got to come from within in which you have a burning desire to produce formidable results. That motivation cannot come from external influences, but rather internally, so it can be defiantly used to approach the activity with a heightened inclination to manufacture the greatest effects. Self-motivation is the only motivational influence you should rely upon.
