Pumpkin Spice Protein Latte
I'm a huge coffee drinker! I get up every morning and I have a cup. I don't necessary drink it for the caffeine, because honestly, the caffeine doesn't effect me. I do it for the taste and the warmth. Something about waking up on a cold morning and having a hot cup of joe to wake my body up is my way of starting a great morning.
I decided to spice up my coffee the last few days and I've been making myself pumpkin spice latte's. Oh, they are so good. Now don't get me wrong, it's nothing even close to a Starbuck's Pumpkin latte, but this one does wonders for me when I'm trying to keep my calories and fats low.
Servings: 1
Prep Time: 3 minutes
Ingredients
1/4 cup canned pumpkin puree
1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder
1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 TBS sugar-free cinnamon vanilla or pumpkin pie syrup
1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon
8 to 12 ounces strong black coffee
Directions
1. While your coffee is brewing, pour almond milk in a mug and microwave for 1 minute. You want your milk to be piping hot. Pour hot almond milk into a blender. Add your pumpkin, spices, whey protein, vanilla extract and syrup to the blender. Blend for 1 minute. You want your pumpkin mixture to be frothy.
2. Pour pumpkin mix back into mug and then pour strong hot coffee over the top. Enjoy....just don't burn your mouth, because this latte is going to be HOT!
