An Improved You
Plan of Action
Each night as I rest in bed and gaze at the ceiling, I look back on the events of my day. Some days I am happy with what I've done. When I perform a lot throughout the day, I have a sense of accomplishment and it is a truly wonderful feeling. The more tasks I complete throughout the day the more proud I become. Also, I notice that the more demanding and daunting the task I finish, the more accomplished I feel. And there are those other days when I truly regret my lack of effort. When I don't perform a lot, I look at my life as meaningless and unworthy; where I just wish I could go back into time and change things for the better. I constantly remind myself of the lack of effort I put in throughout the day and I wish that I put in superfluous exertion to accomplish everything I want to and then some.
These effortless days do one good thing though. They provide me even more motivation. They add fuel to the fire for me to accomplish something great the next day.
"Live life to the fullest." "Live up to your potential." These are not just quotes but statements that we should truly conform to. These are positions in which we should stand by. We should always be doing something extraordinary with our lives and we should always be ready to work with an incessant vigor. Never should we sit without purpose, but we should utilize our short time on this Earth with fruitful activities that will improve us as individuals.
I've noticed throughout my life that people need motivation to engage in conduct. Whether it is internal, external, or subconscious...motivation needs to be there in order for an individual to act. People need to be pushed. However, sometimes that extra push isn't always there. We should simply have a plan of action to get us through the day. Sometimes it's hard to have motivation to do things, but a written schedule propels us to accomplish. Written words on paper solidify our efforts. If we don't accomplish what's on the schedule, we feel unaccomplished. This plan of action stimulates us to work hard and complete the schedule.
I don't know about you, but when I have no set plan as to what I am to do during the day, I get nothing accomplished. However, when I have a detailed schedule laid out that depicts what I am to do each minute of the day, I carry out task after task. It motivates me to get something done by a certain time and I readily move on the next task without dwelling, looking back, or taking down time in between tasks.
You have to start creating a schedule. Odds are you don't utilize every minute to their fullest potential. Once you put up a schedule for each and every day, you'll notice how much more you will utilize. You probably won't accomplish something throughout every minute even with a schedule, but I assure you'll get a lot more done.
When you create a schedule, though, it should not be vague and depict broad activities. It should not state:
8:00 AM- 6:00 PM- Work
No! Outline the nitty-gritty details within your work. You'll get that much more done in work. In Your schedule should include minor details like opening the mail, taking out the trash, cleaning the dishes, walking the dogs. A regimented plan that includes inconsequential particulars will prove to be so successful for you and you'll make the most out of your life.
So I beg of you. Take 5 minutes out of the end of your day...every day...to create a detailed schedule for the following day, depicting what you should do for every 15-30 minutes throughout the day. You'll achieve so much more than you are used to. So go ahead and create that schedule for the day. Get ready for the war known as life! Create a plan of action!
