Mindi Stoots Interview

MP: How were you introduced to modeling? What do you like about it? What don’t you like about it (if there is anything not to like haha)?

MS: I was at a club, and a local photographer starting snapping shots of me with his camera.  Next thing I know I am getting all these hot pictures of me sent to my email.   I start posting them on Myspace, and WOW the comments I got!  It motivated me, and I became inspired.  Ever since I was little, I had always dreamed of being a model, but I always thought it was unrealistic, because that is what so many girls want to do when they are young.  Then the super amazing glamour photographer Michael Vincent contacted me on Myspace.  I was in awe because he worked with some of the girls I looked up to, like Forbidden and Tila Tequila.  Things seemed to kinda progress from that shoot!  I love traveling, and modeling has definitely allowed me to go all over!  I also love meeting and working with talented people.  One thing I dislike about this industry is that a lot of girls rely too much on photoshop.  I just wish it was fair for everyone and that girls would exercise, besides, it’s healthy!

MP: How did you develop such an incredible body with a slim waist, slender legs, and such supple breasts?

MS:  I have always been active.  I did ballet for almost 6 years, gymnastics for 5, and was a cheerleader for 6 years.  I haven’t lost that build, and I have good genes, so my body has always been pretty easy for me to maintain.  I also eat very healthy, so I do not know what my body would be like if I ate junk food these days.  Honestly, as far as my breasts, I wear some kind of bra to bed.  Might sound weird, but I always thought that would prevent them from sagging.  I have to say I think I’m correct!  Oh, and I love to dance!  Even if it’s just me at home by myself in front of the mirror with the music blasting!  Dancing is an awesome workout!

MP: Did you eat junk food as a kid?

MS:  Well sure I did!  I live in Tennessee so I was raised on homestyle southern cooking.  I am not a kid anymore though obviously, so I definitely watch what I eat.  I eat like one fry a year, and If you see me eating a piece of bread I will probably cry because you caught me, and it would make me feel like I did something horribly wrong.

MP: How often do you have a cheat meal and do you think it’s necessary to make sure you don’t deprive yourself or anything or is it the all-or-nothing approach?

MS:  Well maybe like once a month I will have something with dark chocolate or maybe a slice of key lime pie.  I really don’t care for sweets or junk food though. I always feel better if I eat right.

MP: What kinds of exercises do you focus on? Do you prefer cardiovascular or weight training as the focus of your workouts?

MS:  I do both!  I would say I focus more on cardiovascular.  P90X is amazing for me!  It’s good for your body to keep your workout routines changing, and P90X has different moves to keep things interesting.

MP: Do you exercise when on vacation?

MS:  YES!  I carry some weights with me.  I also find myself doing squats and lunges in the hotel room/condo.

MP: How has training helped you develop a positive mental attitude that basically tells you that ‘you can do anything you put your mind to’?

MS:   My attitude is always better if I feel good and look good physically.  There is no excuse of why anyone can’t do anything if they put their mind to it.  Remember you are in control of your body.

MP: How do you force yourself to get enough sleep?

MS:  Turning the computer off and letting my phone die.  Well, that’s part of it, but after I work out I actually feel good and relaxed, and it really does help me go to sleep.

MP: How do you balance your time between fitness and living life?

MS:  It’s verrrry hard!  I honestly stress out if I do not have a good amount of time to work at some point during the day.  I am the busiest now that I have ever been.  I wish there were more hours in a day!  I hired a maid so I can work out!

MP: What are your top 5 tips to burn fat effectively?

MS:  Eat breakfast, eat (5) small portioned meals throughout the day, avoid soft drinks, eat a protein bar atleast 90 minutes before your workout, and avoid fad dieting (“100 calorie packs”, “low fat”, “low carb”)

MP: What are the qualities in your ideal man?

MS:  My ideal man:  Confident, supportive of what I do, has his own goals, isn’t the jealous type, can make me laugh, doesn’t take things too seriously, takes care of his body, enjoys spending time with family, and loves dogs.  Oh, and he would not be the romantic type.

MP: How can a man approach a girl as stunning as you?

MS: Like NIKE!  JUST DO IT!  I’m a normal girl too, so I prefer the non awkward moments.  No pickup lines please and thanks.

MP: They say that a man’s body language speaks 90% of the words for him. Do women have such a skill to be able to determine their mate solely from the way he moves or should this be taken with a grain of salt?

MS:  Ha Ha, yeah!  I totally believe that!  I think that’s why I am always attracted to the guys that can dance, or the musicians that perform well on stage.  It’s something they enjoy, so they get into it.

MP: Was college at the University of Memphis the best years of your life or are you living the dream now?

MS: College was awesome yeah, but I am able to focus more now on what I really love to do.  There were some awesome parties in college, but I have way more to do in life than just party.

MP: What was it like having your school be a national championship contender for a basketball team?

MS:  We were!?  HA, JK!  I remember that, but it didn’t interest me, because I am a huge football fan.  I honestly didn’t even root for my own college team…  I am a TN VOLS fan, not Memphis Tigers.  There, I said it.

MP: What are your future goals?

MS:  My main goal at this point is to focus on being published more.  I would love to be in Playboy sometime SOON!  I do eventually hope to get married.  Up until this year, I always said I never wanted to have kids, but I think maybe one day in the future it would be nice to have one child.  I mostly want to make the people that love me proud!
