Men want to be him, girls want all of him. The teen wrestler from Saved by the Bell works extremely hard for his body and is obsessed with working out. Quite simply, Mario Lopez doesn't feel alive unless he's sweating. Lopez does a variety of activities to make sure he has the best physique ever: weight training, plenty of cardio, flexibility, and cross-training.
Lopez details all of his workouts in his workout book called Mario Lopez's Knockout Fitness. Lopez has always been consumed with boxing and wrestled when he was in high school. He likes individual sports opposed to team sports because he doesn't like relying on anyone but himself. "If there’s no team, your flaws and strengths will come out. You’re at your most vulnerable. If you lose, you have no one to blame but yourself, but if you win you get all the glory." Lopez is pretty good at boxing beating several amateur boxers. He also spars with Oscar De La Hoya, James Toney, and Sugar Shane Mosley. Mario Lopez did a lot of weight training when he was younger and now does less weight training and more cardio-based routines to keep the fat off and maintain his muscle mass. He doesn't lift as heavy as he used to, but that doesn't mean he doesn't push it when in the gym: he just uses a more high-rep scheme to achieve failure that way.

He lifts weights and boxes three times per week. However, he also bikes, runs, swims, does yoga, and plays basketball the other 4 days. Lopez stays very active and is therefore able to burn a ton of calories and keep a star-studded body. Mario Lopez loves body weight exercises like push-ups and pull-ups. He does over 500 push ups every day.
Perhaps Lopez trains so much because of his passion for food. "I love to eat and I feel I can get away with a lot more if I train hard. Plus, I love the way it makes me feel. I walk out of the gym and I feel Zenlike. Nothing feels like it can bother me." Here's a typical meal plan that Mario Lopez follows:

Our Take: Lopez did a lot of boxing and wrestling for his workout training routine, which helped bulk up and define his body over the years. These sports really utilize fast-twitch muscle fibers, which help build up your muscles. They also utilize slow-twitch muscle fibers that help keep him lean and builds up his endurance. The fact that he does 500 push ups every day gives him even more stimulation in his muscles. Some may think he's overdoing it, but with a body like that it's hard not to think otherwise. He likes to occasionally endulge in some unhealthy snacks but since he is burning so many calories throughout his day he is able to afford it. In addition, it's good to have a cheat meal like this once in a while. He is active and working his body almost every single day so he is able to stay super lean year round. Lopez has some of the best abs and ripped body muscle in Hollywood!
