How to Get a Better and Perfect Beach Body

Summertime is finally approaching and people all around want to get into shape to look good in their swimwear as they make their plans for summer. Of course there are too many fad type diets and workouts out there that can make a quick fix but unless you want to lose the results from that before August hits I suggest you stick to what has worked for decades upon decades. There’s no 8 second abs video, pre-packaged food diet plan or 10 week miracle program that will work for you for any longer than the product or service is supposed to get you the results in.

I bet you that the people that look the best on the beach don’t use these methods. I bet they use tools that they stick to using all year round at least 80% of the time. The 80% rule is key to success when it comes to dieting and/or exercising. You do not have to be a fitness nut or a starving salad and tuna devouring freak to get the body you desire and deserve. What is the 80% exactly you ask?

The 80% is very simple. Follow your diet 80% of the time and exercise as planned 80% of the time and you will get great results. This won’t make you into a fitness model or a bodybuilder but it can help you get a fabulous body. The trick is to be realistic and to not lie to yourself. If you eat out a restaurant and have the chicken caesar salad with the croutons, the extra cheese and lots of dressing don’t tell yourself that this is part of the 80% because it is a salad. If you fool yourself into thinking like this then your 80% will probably actually end up being less than 50% in reality.

So now that you know about the 80% rule you might be asking what is it exactly you should be doing in terms of exercise before you worry about sticking to it most of the time. Like mentioned, sticking to what has always worked is the best way. Functional strength training exercises are key to transforming your body. Doing lots of cardio will melt away fat but without adding muscle here and there you will end up just looking like a smaller version of your existing body, no transformations happen this way. Using bodyweight exercises such as pull-ups, push-ups and more combined with functional weighted exercises such as deadlifts, squats, and bench presses are what will transform your body better than any circuit type training or aerobics classes.

I urge you to get help from a personal trainer when starting out with strength training. When starting out with the exercises mentioned above it is critical that they are done correctly, the correct number of sets and reps are being performed and of course the right amount of weight for optimal results. Even if you have done them before and consider yourself more experienced, a professional personal trainer can create a program for you to follow that will most likely be more scientifically correct since this is what they do for a living.
