How does lifting weights help the muscle grow?

Weight lifting stimulates the muscle by tearing the muscle fibers within the muscles worked. With proper nutrition and rest, the muscle adapts to the trauma presented to it by regenerating the muscle fibers by growing back bigger and stronger than they were so that it could improve to handle those loads with more ease next time you present it with that trauma.
