Train legs very intensely when you do them. Make sure you perform legs once a week trying to go to failure on each and every set. At most, you can do it twice a week, but if you're going very hard it's not recommended. It takes a while for your legs to recover from heavy weightlifting. Don't overdo it in the gym. Train for one hour at most when lifting weights and do a variety of exercises- lunges, dumbbell step-ups, deadlifts, leg extensions, leg curls, etc. Try to up your weights little by little every day and eat frequently throughout the day- lean protein, healthy low glycemic carbohydrates, etc.

You can also squat ligher weights but stopping for 5seconds at bottom and in the middle each rep. Supports your core and will make you progress when youre stuck.

Personally for increasing my squat i would do a 6 week programme of training legs twice a week, only doing squats, 4 warm up sets begining with bar only and adding small amount of weight each warm up set. 3 working sets 5 reps max, make sure you are deep into your squat. Evry two leg sessions increase weight by 2.5kg. Try and mix in allot of stretching in your legs, atleast 15 minutes of development stretching after a leg workout

It's about hitting the muscle by stimulating it to grow. There's a certain stimulus you want to achieve. You need to bring your muscles to absolute failure so it can grow back much much stronger, stronger than what people typically think is possible. I learned all about this in their MP45 Program that these guys sell on Muscle Prodigy. Amazing program. I really wanted to get my squat up and this program sure as hell did it for me.
