Love all the info on this board, have tried many of your suggestions over the years and offered up some of my own. I've been on break due to injury, but back at it again starting last week. What kind of pre and post workout routines do you all follow? PRE - eat anything? drink? nothing? how soon before? take sups just before or much before? POST - eat immediately after? wait a while? hour or so? rehydrate right away or wait? sleep after if possible or stay active? sauna or jacuzzi if available? Last thing, I saw in another thread about carbs ok immediately following and not 'counting' I'm just building back up strength and endurance, not in a bulk or cut stage, but always watch my carbs and have never eaten/drank carb rich shakes immediately following a work out. Can you expand on the basis for carbs immediately following? I am not questioning or challenging this advice, it probably makes perfect sense and I just don't know it yet. I am just one to understand the 'why's before i try it.

the basis for eating carbs after a workout is b/c it helps properly process the protein that you take in and if you dont take them in they wont be processed properly and your body will have to burn some of the protein that you have taken in to process it and even so it doesnt process as well as otherwise just taking in carbs i will post more on this topic once i look up a bit more info on it but this is what i know and have gathered up so far
