Running stairs is incredibly effective to burn fat. Running stairs is a form of high intensity interval training, especially if you sprint up those stairs as fast as you can, which is the most efficient way to burn fat. Running stairs will also build up a lot of strength in your legs- the motion of powering up is practically the same as a one-legged squat or lunge.
