We hear it all the time..."Just do something; any exercise is better than nothing". Last week whilst in my car I was listening to a gentleman on the radio known as the body transformation catalyst. Pretty cool name I must say.

He was talking with the radio station host about training and weight loss for new years. They were talking about this one particular ladies fitness facility and how it's better than nothing.

Now I understand that he was a bit manipulated by the radio presenter into making the statement that doing any exercise regime is better than nothing. 

Here's my problem with that mentality. I would definitely always encourage any inactive individual to simply get active first. Becoming active will increase an inactive persons basic fitness and make them feel somewhat better and more energized.

However, we need to be totally honest here and admit that the vast majority of us are all about aesthetics. We all want to primarily look better. That’s what is most important to us.

Someone wants to lose body fat, NO, they want to look better and loosing body fat is part of the process of looking better for them. A skinny guy wants to add muscle, NO, he’s fed up looking skinny, so for muscle building will be part of the process for him to look better! 

We all want to look better and when people aren't seeing results, that's when most will quit. So that's the biggest error in this mindset of anything is better than nothing.

You need to engage in a exercise training regime that will not only make you feel better, but one that will also generate visual results so that you will commit and stick to the plan long term and get the ultimate results you are seeking.

I believe the number one reason people quit on any exercise regime, after being simply lazy that is, is lack of results from the time and work they are putting in.

So if you are someone who is looking for visual results I’m sorry, but the anything is better than nothing when it comes to exercise way of thinking just DON’T cut it. You need to get into an exercise regime that is going to be highly effective, and any highly effective training program isn’t going to be easy. It’s going to require hard work.

The only good thing about this ‘female fitness facility’ the trainer mentioned on the radio is the social support from the female group dynamic. However, that same dynamic and be created for anyone, male or female, if they simply find the right social, living and training environment. A great trainer or training partner will also be a huge aid to you.

If you just want to become a little more active and “FIT” sure anything is better than nothing, but if you’re seeking visual results, then get involved in a kick-ass training regime today!
