Dave Shutler Meal Plan
My diet now changes frequently as far as the foods I eat, but staying lean all year requires me to be strict, yet I do enjoy everything I eat. I don't count calories, I just know how much roughly I take in and have certain principles I stick to.
Principles: LOTS of leafy greens, carbs only in morning and pre/post-workout times (optimal in my opinion)
Example:
Meal 1- 7 egg whites, grapefruit and 1/4 cup of oats with peanut butter
Meal 2- 35 grams whey/casein blend protein shake with berries, spinach, celery
Meal 3- Big Salad -romaine lettuce and spinach mix with all kinds of veggies and 4 oz grilled chicken, homemade salad dressing made with a blend of cashews and oranges
Meal 4- Pre Workout 30-35 gram shake with an apple or oatmeal
Meal 5- Post-workout 30 gram shake with one or 2 rice cakes
Meal 6- Big Salad with all kinds of veggies with 4 oz grilled chicken, steak or salmon, maybe avocado with homemade dressing or balsamic vinaigrette
