Success is never earned over night. Success is a long arduous process that is achieved in time, but success starts with a single step. No one successful got to where they are without taking the risk to jump in the deep end in the first place. Successful people risk whatever they have just to do something they believe in.
There are 3 secrets to success:
Risk- Having the guts to go after what you want in life and taking that initial risk of failing
Passion- Being totally enthusiastic abotu your idea/endeavor every single morning you wake up
Resistance- Never giving up no matter what obstacles come your way
The Olympic race with Usain Bolt is definitely a metaphor to life. Life is a race and there are constant ups and downs. You may not always be the leader of the race, and failures arrive here and there, but there has to be a winner. Why can't it be you? You can always make an excuse why it can't but you can also give it your all because winners are the ones who worked the hardest and smartest. Those years of hard work, practicing for that big day, that big race builds up to the day you beat everyone and win the race.
If you do something you love and enjoy putting in the time every day, how can someone be better than you getting by on talent alone? Would Ray Lewis be a great lawyer? We can never know, but would he be as passionate about that as football. His passion for the game drove him to be the best. Would Tommy Hilfiger make a good accountant? We'll never know, but would he have the same passion in accounting that he did with fashion to be forced to sell jeans out of his car? I doubt it.
Do you want to be great? Follow your heart, but first, you must be willing to take the risk!!
