Dan Gable's records as an athlete and coach certainly speak for themselves and no sport quite experienced one man that accomplished so much in both avenues as did Dan Gable with wrestling. As an athlete, Gable was a two-time NCAA champion at Iowa State University. He lost only one match throughout his entire collegiate career, compiling an unheard-of-record of 182-1 (a record that stood for 32 years before Cael Sanderson went 159-0 in 2002). His career as an athlete culminated in the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich where he won the Gold Medal and did not surrender a single point to any of his opponents. Gable transferred his success as an athlete into a coach, and he was even more dominant there, leading the Iowa Hawkeyes to an unprecedented 15 National Championships in 21 seasons.

Gable's success was directly contingent on his ability to get the very most out of himself and others. Gable didn't just perform to get by and go through the motions, he had that hard-to-find attitude of being the best. Gable is a renowned speaker, relating his life experiences and providing formulas for success.
