If doing a high number of reps, you should envision getting it up one rep at a time. Don't look at the ultimate number, but rather break it up into mini-sets, pause for a couple of seconds and repeat. For instance, in a set of 50 reps, think of it as 5 sets of 10 with a 2 to 3 second pause in between each set. This might make it seem easier to accomplish and therefore, if you apply this method to all your sets, you could probably do more reps than you initially thought you could in any exercise!

You should do box jumps during your warm-up on leg days because such explosive exercises wake up your nervous system to recruit maximum muscle.
