Simple carbohydrates that you should consume post-workout are better off coming from cold sources. This will allow for increased uptake into the blood stream and may consequently promote maximum absorption of nutrients into the muscle.

 




Depleting your body of carbohydrates for a prolonged period of time (more than seven days) can deplete glycogen levels (stored carbohydrates) in muscle. Low glycogen levels can trigger the burning of muscle tissue.
